Can I call the credit card company and ask for a higher limit?

Question by starfishblues: Can I call the credit card company and ask for a higher limit?
I got a credit card about 6 months ago with a limit of just $ 800. It’s a student credit card. Can I call the credit card company and ask for a higher credit limit? I’ve heard you can ask for a lower interest rate and sometimes they’ll give it to you, but is the same true for a higher credit limit?

Thanks in advance.

As a general rule, banks are always happy to give a higher credit limit.

However it does depend on the specific bank that you’ve been issued the card.

Usually banks look at your income and sources of funding prior to increasing the credit limit, but they do not pay much attention to it. So most probably the bank will increase the credit limit,

if not. tell them you found a better deal with some other bank, they will then ask which bank; give them a bank’s name in random and provide them with a reasonable deal and I guarantee you that they will match it.(the deal)

Can you get a small loan with no credit?

Question by someonewhocares: Can you get a small loan with no credit?
My boyfriend wants to buy a small trailer house for $ 15,900 and needs a small loan. The only problem is he’s only nineteen and hardly has any credit at all. Is there any way to take out a small bank loan of about $ 15,000 with no credit? If not, any advice??? He has to move out very soon!

Best answer:

Answer by psunuc

Since he is financing it almost 100% this could be tough. Most likely he will need someone with good credit to co-sign the loan for him.

This means that they will pay the loan payments if he does not or can not for some reason.

Where can I get an unsecured loan with bad credit?

Question by Corey W: Where can I get an unsecured loan with bad credit?
I need to figure out a way to get some kind of installment loan for around 3k-5k. I make good money, but I don’t have good credit at all. Are there any kind of helpful companies for something like this?

Best answer:

Answer by Voice Maxed
No institution would afford you an unsecured loan with bad credit. If you can’t get a credit card, then forget the cash loan.

You said that you make “Good Money” if you make $ 3K to $ 5K then you make be able to to get a payday loan but this doesn’t qualify as an installment loan as you were asking for.
Another option is to pawn something of value, this however does not qualify as unsecured.
So there, i guess the answer to your question is nowhere.

Q&A: Does anyone know of a payday advance/ online place where I can get a small fast loan?

Question by miss_tink_21: Does anyone know of a payday advance/ online place where I can get a small fast loan?
I need a small loan.
And I need to be able to pay it off in small increments.
Does anyone know anywhere where this might be possible?

Best answer:

Answer by CatDad
Payday loans are never paid off in small increments.
Typical payday loan: You write them a check for $ 350 and postdate it 2 weeks in advance. They give you $ 300 and cash the check in 2 weeks.
With online payday loans, you give them your bank routing and checking #’s and in 2 weeks they debit your checking account, whether the money is there or not.

What can I do about a scam payday loan company who continues to harass me to no end?

Question by Ron: What can I do about a scam payday loan company who continues to harass me to no end?
The company is called Usa Cash Advance the people there state to customers that they gave “loans” to people and they harass them to pay back the money, or they will put them in jail or prison etc. This has happened to many people including a close family friend of mine. They don’t seem to give up.

Answer by Kittysue

If your friend has an outstanding loan, they will keep calling him until he pays it back. Its easy – you want the calls to stop, then pay off your debt

If he hasnt’ taken out a loan then he can call the police and report an extortion attempt

BUT before he does that he should run a credit report. A friend was getting calls about a loan that she assumed was a scam until her dad told her to run a credit report. Turns out she was the victim of identity theft and someone had not only taken out a loan in her name, they had also opened and maxed out two department store credit cards in another state

When does it make sense to consolidate all your credit cards?

Question by jerry_won3772: When does it make sense to consolidate all your credit cards?
I get some credit cards I would like to pay off as soon as possible. I read that you should pay the card with the higher interest rate first and then pay the minimum payment on the other cards. I like the idea of consolidating all your credit cards and make one payment , as this would make my life easier. Which option would be better, pay off each credit card or consolidate?

Best answer:

Answer by bdancer222

The problem with consolidating those credit cards is that once the cards are paid off, you charge them back up. Then you have the credit card debt and the consolidation loan to pay.

The most effective way to get yourself out of credit card debt is to squeeze every penny out of your budget and put it on the highest interest rate card, while making minimum payments on therest. When the highest is paid off, move to the next till they are all paid off.

Not only will you get out of debt, you will learn better financial management. It will take 2 or 3 years to pay off the credit card debt this way.

What are some quick and easy ways for an eleven year old to make money?

Question by U : What are some quick and easy ways for an eleven year old to make money?
My mom says I have to buy everything for myself from now on, so I need to know some ways to make quick cash (and I don’t mean mow peoples lawns, sell newspapers, etc.).
I can’t make the money from my family cause they’re cheepskates.

Well, if you’re not into the old fashioned business of going around making money, try more unique ways.
At my mothers work, she is friends with someone who’s son (who is also eleven) makes fudge and trail mix and sells them through the work for about five dollars each.
He has made a lot of money so far, and I actually envy him, even though I am older.
Another interesting job is to buy and sell on eBay, with your parents’ permission and help. It takes a lot of work to master it, but it can be worthwhile. A yardsale is also nice.

I know you said you’re not interested in the little things, but those do add up! There’s a story of someone who bought a cheap lawnmower for about 10 dollars, and then made 10,000 dollars in one year!
Just look around for random jobs and it will eventually pay off. Tutoring, painting, helping out in offices, etc.

Don’t spend it on frivolous things like candy or toys, because eventually, you won’t even remember owning those things! It’s basically like throwing your money away.

What effect with the current market crisis have on my credit cards?

Question by happydawg: What effect with the current market crisis have on my credit cards?
I have several credit cards. Most of them have a zero balance. I do notice the credit card companies keep sending me blank checks wanting me to take advantage of low interest rates theyre offering.
Will the financial troubles have any effect on my credit cards? If so, what?

Best answer:

Answer by Tom P
The government is talking about eliminating 0% interest teaser rates on credit cards. This is probably why we are getting those blank checks with 0% interest right now. It is possible that credit card companies may lower credit limits, and even cancel the accounts of some customers in order to reduce bad debt liabilities. There is likely to be a wave of credit card defaults in the near future, which may trigger some of this activity. If you have a good relationship with your credit card companies I doubt you will be personally affected.

Good Luck.

What happens to bank loans in case the debtor company goes insolvent?

Question by Syed Nadim: What happens to bank loans in case the debtor company goes insolvent?
I would like to know the fate / process of recovery of bank loans in case the debtor business goes insolvent / bankrupt with particular reference to UK laws. What could be the precautions which a lending banker may take while lending to ensure recovery in case of insolvency / bankruptcy?

Best answer:

Answer by GetOutofDebt.org
If it is a debt you owe the company, you still owe it. The precaution is good qualification and an appropriate interest rate based on risk to price comparable loans at a rate where the estimation of profit exceeds the estimation of loss. That’s how banks make a profit.
